ABOUT US
- PRACTICE like you've never won, PERFORM live you've never lost -
The SEWP Lab is home to a group of sport psychology researchers and practitioners in the School of Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa in Ottawa, Canada. Our areas of interest and expertise include: mental performance, mental health (well-being), self-regulation, mental skills training, assessment, coaching, consulting, and performance excellence. Directed by Dr. Natalie Durand-Bush, the SEWP Lab provides a stimulating environment for novel, interdisciplinary work aimed at empowering people to manage success and adversity in their daily life.
RESEARCH
The SEWP Lab team includes local and international colleagues and students conducting cutting-edge research to optimize performance and well-being in various contexts including sport, academia, and the performing arts.
PRACTICE
Our research findings are transformed into programs and intervention strategies that SEWP Lab members integrate into their teaching and consulting work with performers of various ages and levels (e.g., Olympic/Paralympic and professional athletes and coaches, varsity athletes, dancers, university students, business executives).
COMMUNITY
SEWP Lab members serve on different committees and provide leadership within national and international organizations to advance knowledge and policies regarding mental performance and mental health in sport. They educate various communities via lectures, conference presentations, workshops, and webinars.
